About This Role
We are seeking a skilled GCP Data Engineer to develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using GCP services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Google Dataform, BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Pub/Sub, with a focus on optimising data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.What you will do
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Data Fusion, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer, Cloud Function, and Cloud RUN.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Implement data integration solutions to ingest, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
- Optimise and tune data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes.
- Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and metadata to support data analytics and reporting.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to data workflows.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP technologies and best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Who you are
- Around 2+ years of experience in GCP platform with good knowledge in Google Dataform, BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Pub/Sub.
- ETL Developer with working experience on GCP platforms.
- Advanced SQL/PLSQL, data warehousing, and ETL fundamentals.
- Ability to create and modify tables, views, and materialised views.
- Proficiency in creating complex functions and stored procedures to support application development.
- Good understanding of joins, inline and correlated queries.
- Proficiency in arithmetic and analytical functions.
- Ability to improve application performance by making changes to SQL queries and using execution plans.
- Graduate/Postgraduate in preferably technical streams (Engineering).
