Job Title: Stores Manager (Assistant) Department: Stores Location: Khopoli Job Summary The Stores Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the stores department within the chemical manufacturing plant as per the defined processes. This role involves inventory management, ensuring safety, adhering defined quality practices, promoting sustainability initiatives, fostering self-improvement among team members, and driving continuous process improvement efforts. Safety Key Responsibilities: Enforce strict safety protocols for handling, storage, and transportation of chemicals in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and rounds to identify and mitigate hazards. Provide training to warehouse staff on proper handling techniques, emergency procedures, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Quality Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) to store and handle chemical is followed. Conduct quality checks at various stages of stores. Establish and maintain quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing chemicals to ensure adherence to specifications and standards. Implement measures to prevent contamination, degradation, or other quality issues during storage and handling. Collaborate with quality control teams to address any quality issues and drive continuous improvement. Sustainability Develop initiatives to minimize waste, reduce environmental impact, and promote sustainable practices within the warehouse and supply chain. Identify opportunities for recycling, reuse, or disposal of chemical waste in accordance with environmental regulations. Identify opportunities for energy conservation, waste reduction, and environmentally friendly practices. Monitor sustainability metrics and develop strategies to improve performance in alignment with company goals. Collaborate with other departments to optimize energy usage, reduce emissions, and improve overall sustainability performance. Self-Improvement Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to enhance the skills and capabilities of the production workforce. Encourage employees to pursue professional development opportunities and certifications relevant to their roles. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements relevant to the role. Process Improvement Analyse warehouse operations to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Utilize data analysis and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drive innovation in production operations. Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, reduce costs, and increase productivity while maintaining safety and quality standards. Required Skills Previous experience in a managing store within a chemical manufacturing plant is highly desirable. Strong understanding of chemical handling, storage, safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental compliance requirements. Familiarity with quality control systems and methodologies, such as ISO standards. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve production targets. Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills for process optimization and troubleshooting.
