Position Overview
TMEIC India is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to design and develop reliable, cost-effective power systems for renewable energy and industrial applications. This role demands strong technical expertise in electrical design for solar plants, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and industrial power systems, combined with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
- Design and develop electrical and power systems in accordance with international standards and TMEIC specifications
- Create detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts for solar plants and BESS
- Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies
- Design power distribution systems, control panels, and electrical infrastructure
- Develop system architectures for renewable energy applications
- Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness requirements
Product Engineering & Application Support
- Understand applications, functionalities, and TMEIC products from an electrical design perspective
- Support the design and application of TMEIC products including:
Solar and BESS Inverters
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
- Provide technical expertise during product selection and sizing
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to optimize solutions
BESS Sales Application Support
- Provide pre-sales technical support for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
- Collaborate with teams to understand customer requirements and develop technical solutions
- Perform feasibility studies and technical assessments for BESS applications
- Prepare technical proposals, system configurations, and performance analyses for BESS projects
- Conduct customer presentations and technical discussions on BESS capabilities and solutions
- Size and configure BESS systems based on customer energy requirements, load profiles, and use cases
- Support RFP/RFQ responses with technical specifications and system designs
- Provide cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculations for BESS implementations
- Address technical queries from customers and sales team during the sales cycle
- Collaborate with teams to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives
Technical Documentation & Analysis
- Read, interpret, and process technical drawings, instructions, reports, and related documents
- Prepare detailed technical specifications for electrical equipment and systems
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and equipment schedules
- Create comprehensive design documentation including:
Electrical design reports
Protection and control philosophy documents
Cable schedules and routing drawings
Equipment data sheets and specifications
Testing & Validation
- Conduct system testing and simulation in laboratory environments
- Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and obtain customer approvals
- Develop test procedures and validation protocols
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing phases
- Document test results and generate compliance reports
Project Execution & Customer Support
- Prepare technical offers for power plant control systems by analyzing customer requirements
- Develop system layouts and technical specifications for:
Control panels and switchgear
Input/Output (I/O) systems
SCADA/HMI interfaces
Bought-out items and auxiliary equipment
- Support project management teams during project execution
- Interface with customers to clarify technical requirements and provide solutions
- Participate in design reviews and client presentations
Process Improvement & Standards Compliance
- Adhere to engineering best practices, design standards, and TMEIC engineering processes
- Implement quality control measures throughout the design process
- Suggest and implement improvements to processes, standards, and methodologies
- Stay updated with the latest industry codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.)
- Contribute to the development of internal design guidelines and templates
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams including:
Control engineers
Hardware engineers
Software engineers
Inverter design engineers
Mechanical engineers
Project management teams
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews and technical discussions
- Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Master's degree preferred
Experience
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in electrical design and engineering
- Proven experience in designing power systems for solar plants and/or BESS
- Hands-on experience with industrial power electronics (inverters, drives, UPS)
- Experience in renewable energy projects is essential
- Experience in pre-sales technical support or application engineering for BESS is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work with sales teams and customers in a consultative capacity
Technical Skills
Power Systems Design:
- Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar)
- Knowledge of power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or similar)
- Experience with simulation and modelling software
Standards & Codes:
- In-depth knowledge of international standards:
IEC 61000 (Electromagnetic Compatibility)
IEC 61215/61730 (PV modules)
IEEE 1547 (Interconnection standards)
NEC/IEC electrical codes
- Understanding of grid codes and utility interconnection requirements
Technical Competencies:
- Power distribution and protection systems

Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel within India and abroad (approximately 15-25% of time)
