Overview of the Role: The Assistant Manager in the Record to Report (R2R) function plays a critical role in managing the end-to-end financial reporting process, from recording transactions to the final preparation of financial statements. This role requires strong oversight of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, and maintaining the integrity of financial data. You will also be responsible for managing balance sheet reconciliations, identifying process inefficiencies, and implementing improvements to streamline reporting. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams is key, as is the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus, enabling the optimization and automation of accounting and reporting workflows within the R2R function. Experience in merger and acquisitions will be added advantage. There are two roles that report into the Assistance Manager R2R Role & responsibilities: Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring they are completed on time and without errors. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports, adhering to deadlines set by the finance team. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all items are cleared promptly to meet reporting deadlines. Coordinate with external auditors, providing timely documentation and support to ensure audits are completed as per schedule. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and relevant regulations, without compromising the timely completion of tasks. Identify and implement process improvements that enhance the efficiency and timeliness of the R2R function. Manage and mentor a team of junior accountants, ensuring tasks are completed on time while meeting quality standards. Support the integration and optimization of financial systems (e.g., NetSuite) to improve efficiency and ensure deadlines are consistently met. Preferred candidate profile : Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle); NetSuite knowledge considered a plus. Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting. Analytical: Strong ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies under tight deadlines. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with management, auditors, and other stakeholders, especially in time-sensitive situations. Leadership: Ability to manage and develop a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Adaptability: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Qualifications and experience : Qualifications: CA / CMA / M.com / MBA preferred. Experience: CA/CMA - Min 3 years, MBA / M Com - 5 years of experience working as a Assistant Manager-R2R, or a similar role in the Accounting department.
