Job Description

Role & responsibilities 1. Task Execution & Productivity - • End-to-End R&D Management: Take ownership of the entire R&D and product development lifecycle, ensuring timely and successful delivery of all projects. • Resource Allocation: Ensure optimal utilization of resources, including engineering teams, budgets, and tools to achieve project goals. Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies and refine workflows, ensuring seamless project execution from start to finish. Agile & Lean Implementation: Promote and integrate Agile and Lean methodologies to foster continuous improvement and efficiency in engineering projects. Multitask Management: Oversee and drive the completion of multiple concurrent R&D projects, balancing priorities and ensuring quality. 2. Technical Accuracy & Quality Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to relevant industry standards, certifications, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ISO, CE, FDA). Technical Documentation: Maintain high standards of technical documentation, ensuring its clear, accurate, and aligned with product requirements. Prototyping & Validation: Oversee the prototyping process, ensuring that designs are validated and meet rigorous functional and reliability criteria. Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and feasibility studies, helping to identify challenges and plan for mitigation. Design Principles: Ensure adherence to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) standards to optimize manufacturability and product longevity 3. Communication & Collaboration Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate across teams (Design, Production, QA, etc.) to ensure a holistic approach to product development and delivery. External Partnerships: Manage relationships with external vendors, research institutions, and technology partners to support product development and innovation. Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of continuous learning by facilitating knowledge sharing, mentorship, and training within the engineering team. Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare and present regular updates, technical reports, and project reviews to leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Grant & Proposal Support: Collaborate with leadership to identify and apply for research funding and technology grants that align with the companys long-term objectives. 4. Discipline & Work Commitmen t Regulatory Compliance: Enforce adherence to safety standards, compliance regulations, and SOPs. Documentation & Modifications: Ensure that all engineering changes are thoroughly documented and reviewed according to internal processes. Ethical Leadership: Model high standards of ethical behavior and ensure projects remain on track through proactive problem solving. 5. Ownership & Initiative : Innovation Leadership: Lead internal innovation initiatives, fostering the development of intellectual property and driving new product concepts. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in product design, development workflows, and team processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Emerging Technology: Stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies in your field and bring forward relevant insights to integrate into the company's technology roadmap. Mentorship: Provide mentorship and development opportunities for junior engineers, contributing to building a robust engineering team. Strategic Planning: Play an integral role in shaping and executing a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with company objectives Education & Experience: Educational Qualifications : Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Technology, R&D Management, or related field. • Experience: • At least 2+ years of experience in R&D, engineering, prototyping, or technology development. • Proven experience in Agile product development, Lean manufacturing, and process optimization. • Expertise in technology feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analysis. • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) principles. • Strong experience with technical documentation, compliance, and industry certifications (e.g., ISO, CE, FDA) Skills & Competencies : Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to tackle complex engineering challenges with innovative solutions. •Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire technical teams, with a focus on mentorship and career development for junior engineers. • Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration: A proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, both internally and externally, to drive project success. • Process-Oriented : Strong focus on continuous improvement, optimizing engineering workflows, and adopting best practices to increase efficiency. • Proactive: Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and initiative in driving projects and teams forward
