Role & responsibilities Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demands, production targets, and inventory levels while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing production costs. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, procurement, and logistics, to gather production requirements, priorities orders, and resolve production bottlenecks. Analyze production capacity, resource availability, and lead times to determine production feasibility and identify areas for improvement or optimization. Utilize production planning software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, MRP software) to create and maintain production schedules, capacity plans, and material requirements. Monitor production progress against established schedules, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery and production efficiency. Collaborate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and supplies to support production schedules. Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Conduct regular production meetings and performance reviews to assess production KPIs, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive operational excellence. Provide leadership and mentorship to production planning teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in production planning and scheduling to drive process innovation and efficiency gains. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Masters degree preferred. Minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in production planning and scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MRP systems). Strong understanding of production processes, capacity planning, and material requirements planning (MRP). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex production data and make data-driven decisions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in production planning and scheduling. Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of successfully leading and managing production planning teams and initiatives.
