Assistant Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Compliance & Legal

• Ensure compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) laws, statutory requirements, and company standards.
• Liaise with government authorities for inspections, audits, and statutory clearances.

2. Safety Management

• Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, SOPs, and risk assessment procedures.
• Conduct safety audits, hazard identification (HAZID), risk assessments (HIRA), and ensure corrective actions.
• Monitor and control unsafe practices, promote safe working culture across the plant.
• Maintain documentation and reports as per ISO 45001 requirements.

3. Environmental Management

• Ensure compliance with waste management, effluent treatment, air/water/soil pollution norms.
• Drive initiatives for energy conservation, water saving, and sustainable practices.
• Maintain documentation and reports as per PCB & ISO 14001 requirements.

4. Training & Awareness

• Conduct EHS training, Safety talks & visit, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
• Promote behavioural safety and lead campaigns on Zero accident & Safety Culture.

5. Incident Management

• Lead incident/accident investigations, prepare reports, identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain accident/incident records and statutory reporting.

6. Emergency Preparedness

• Develop and periodically test on-site emergency plan, evacuation drills, and fire safety readiness.
• Ensure availability and maintenance of firefighting systems, alarms, PPE, and emergency kits.

7. Occupational Health

• Coordinate with medical/occupational health teams for periodic health checkups.
• Monitor workplace hygiene, ergonomics, and occupational disease prevention.

8. Management Systems & Reporting

• Support EHS audits (internal/external), ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 implementation.
• Prepare and share monthly EHS performance reports with management.
