Job Title: Assistant Manager / Manager - Maintenance Department: Maintenance Reporting To: Plant Head / Maintenance Head Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of all machinery, utilities, and production equipment in the alloy wheel manufacturing unit by implementing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies. The role requires expertise in casting, machining, and finishing processes used in two-wheeler alloy wheel production while ensuring minimum downtime, cost optimization, and adherence to safety & compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Maintenance Operations & Troubleshooting Ensure smooth operation and breakdown maintenance of LPDC (Low Pressure Die Casting), GDC (Gravity Die Casting), CNC, and VMC machines used in alloy wheel manufacturing. Perform preventive & predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and enhance machine efficiency. Troubleshoot issues related to hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, SCADA, motors, conveyors, and robotic automation systems . Oversee furnace maintenance , ensuring optimal performance of melting, holding, and heat treatment furnaces. 2. Utility & Equipment Maintenance Ensure proper functioning of air compressors, cooling towers, DG sets, ETP, STP, HVAC, and chiller systems . Implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce power consumption and improve efficiency. 3. Team Management & Vendor Coordination Lead a team of maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians , ensuring effective workload distribution and skill enhancement. Coordinate with OEMs, service vendors, and spare part suppliers for timely machine servicing and procurement of critical spare parts. Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) with third-party service providers. 4. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement Drive TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Kaizen initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce breakdowns. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA to address recurring maintenance issues. 5. Compliance, Safety & Documentation Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards for maintenance activities. Implement workplace safety protocols and ensure adherence to SOPs to minimize accidents. Maintain proper documentation of maintenance logs, downtime reports, and audit records for compliance and tracking. Key Skills & Competencies: Technical Expertise in casting machines, CNC/VMC maintenance, PLCs, SCADA, automation systems, and utility equipment . Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and fabrication for industrial maintenance. Hands-on experience in predictive maintenance tools like vibration analysis, thermography, and ultrasonic testing . Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills to handle machine breakdowns and optimize maintenance schedules. Leadership & Team Management skills to lead maintenance staff effectively. Safety & Compliance Knowledge to ensure a hazard-free working environment. Vendor & Spare Management to ensure smooth supply chain for maintenance needs. Budgeting & Cost Optimization to minimize maintenance expenses while ensuring high uptime. Excellent Communication & Coordination Skills to work with production, quality, and external service providers. Qualifications & Experience: Educational Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial / Automobile Engineering . Experience: Assistant Manager: 5-8 years of experience in maintenance within the alloy wheel / foundry / auto components / casting industry . Manager: 8-12+ years of experience in plant maintenance with a proven track record in managing maintenance operations. Preferred Industry Background: Alloy Wheel Manufacturing Auto Components Manufacturing Foundry / Casting Industry CNC & Machining Units
