Hello, We have opening for below role- Job Title: Assistant Manager - Logistics Location: Urse, Pune Department: Logistics & Supply Chain Reports To: Logistics Operations Head Job Summary: The Assistant Manager - Logistics is responsible for overseeing and managing logistics operations, including inventory management, warehousing, procurement, packaging, and manpower handling. The role ensures efficient supply chain processes to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance. Key Responsibilities: 1. Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stock shortages or overstocking. Implement inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy. Coordinate stock audits and cycle counts. Manage inventory reconciliation and report discrepancies. 2. Warehouse Management: Oversee warehouse operations, including material storage, safety, and space utilization. Ensure timely movement of goods and proper documentation. Implement best practices for warehouse management systems (WMS). Ensure compliance with health and safety standards. 3. Procurement & Purchase Order (PO) Management: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely procurement of materials. Manage the purchase order (PO) process, including approvals, follow-ups, and supplier negotiations. Ensure procurement activities align with budget and quality standards. Maintain vendor performance records. 4. Packaging & Dispatch: Ensure proper packaging of materials to prevent damage during transit. Supervise packing and labeling according to company standards. Monitor shipment schedules and ensure on-time deliveries. Coordinate with transport agencies for smooth dispatch operations. 5. Manpower Handling: Supervise logistics staff, including warehouse workers, storekeepers, and delivery personnel. Assign tasks and monitor performance. Conduct training programs to enhance team efficiency. Ensure proper workforce planning to manage peak demands. 6. Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate documentation for logistics, including invoices, delivery notes, and customs clearance. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Maintain records of stock movement, procurement, and dispatches. Coordinate with finance and accounts teams for billing and reconciliation. 7. Process Optimization & Reporting: Identify process improvement areas and implement cost-effective solutions. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations. Prepare periodic reports on inventory, procurement, and logistics performance. Implement technology-driven solutions to enhance efficiency. Key Requirements: Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. BE or Diploma most preferable. 5+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, procurement, and inventory management. Experience in handling manpower and vendor management. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management. Hands-on experience in procurement and purchase order processing. Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office (Excel, Word, ERP systems). Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Problem-solving and analytical skills to optimize logistics operations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in logistics.
