Demonstrable editorial and writing skills as well as subject matter expertise are essential for this role. Expertise in geography, history, chemistry, or sports (with special focus on cricket and football) is preferred but is not a requirement. The ideal candidate will have a masters degree and will have the curiosity and enthusiasm to reach beyond their area of expertise, create content about topics that may not be immediately familiar, and be energized by sharing what they know and what theyve learned with Britannicas audience. The successful candidate will also be committed to producing content that is clear, fair, accurate, and relevant. RESPONSIBILITIES Editing, writing, and commissioning articles. Planning, in partnership with colleagues, contributors, and advisers, how Britannica can expand and maintain its coverage of topics in the assigned disciplines. Working with colleagues and managers to identify articles that need revision and updating such articles so that they are current, engaging to todays learners, and complete. Collaborating with media editors and illustrators on the acquisition and production of images, videos, and other media. Working with other editors during the revision and fact-checking process. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS The applicant should have significant writing and editing experience. Please include links to at least three appropriate writing samples with your application.
