Assistant Counsel

As a Counsel III at Citi within the Legal - Product team, your role will involve offering legal guidance and thought leadership to the Business. Your main objective will be to provide legal support, advice, and guidance, requiring a thorough understanding of the Business and a solid foundation in applicable laws and regulations. **Key Responsibilities**: - Provide legal counsel to the Business - Participate in strategic initiatives - Offer subject matter expertise and interpretations of relevant laws, rules, regulations, and industry practices - Advise business management on legal matters impacting the business - Support legal peers in evaluating business proposals and producing documentation - Collaborate across internal lines of business, control/support functions, and external counsel - Identify, evaluate, and manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risks - Stay updated on legal developments and escalate issues as needed - Manage day-to-day legal activities - Provide advisory services to business partners - Uphold compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies - Maintain ethical conduct and effectively supervise others to ensure standards are met **Qualifications Required**: - 2-5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in financial services - Knowledge of banking regulations and international laws - Experience with complex deals, effective communication, negotiation skills - Ability to build trusted relationships - Strong interpersonal, organizational, and relationship management skills - Capacity to apply sound judgement in a fast-paced environment - Valid bar license to practice law - Juris Doctorate or an equivalent law degree For further details on the most relevant and other relevant skills, please refer to the requirements provided above or reach out to the recruiter for additional information.,
