Assistant / Associate Professor - 3D Animation, VFX and Immersive Media

The Jindal School of Art and Architecture (JSAA) at the O.P. Jindal Global University, invites applications for a position at the rank of Assistant / Associate Professor (full time). The JSAA seeks applicants who have their undergraduate coursework in any professionally accredited Animation or related program and registration in India or in their country of residence with a master’s or higher degrees in related fields. We are looking for candidates whose subsequent training has been multi-disciplinary, and one that creatively bridges creativity and application with a focus on 3D Animation, Visual Effects and Immersive Media . Ideally, the candidate should have 3-5 years of experience working in the Animation and VFX industry. Candidates should have expertise and research interests in 3D Animation, Visual Effects, AR / VR / MR and use of industry standard software such as Maya, Blender, Unity, Unreal or comparable software. The candidate should also be familiar and comfortable with various software used for compositing. Additionally, knowledge of and understanding of basic of Game Design will be a plus. Ideal candidates will bring critical perspectives on the field with attention to environmental and other impacts. Candidates would be expected to teach undergraduate theory and practical courses while also demonstrating a keen interest in developing coursework and contributing towards evolving the curriculum. Given the inter-disciplinary nature of pedagogical practices at the JSAA candidates will be expected to teach students from across various majors, and thus, develop coursework in a manner that highlights both the collaborative and inter-disciplinary nature of any practice. Further, candidates will be expected actively pursue research, critical practices and undertake institutional development. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in 3D Animation, VFX, AR/VR/MR/XR or any allied field. Professional in the above-mentioned areas (minimum 2 to 4 years Assistant Professor / 5 to 7 years Associate Professor Desired Qualifications PhD Relevant college-level teaching experience An established or emerging trajectory for creative and/or scholarly work.
