Job Description

Job Overview : We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Assembly Head to oversee the assembly operations of heavy machinery and industrial equipment at our manufacturing facility in Matoda, Ahmedabad. The ideal candidate will bring more than 20 years of experience in procurement, fabrication, and assembly management, with a strong background in the machinery, industrial equipment, or manufacturing sectors. You will be responsible for managing the assembly line, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products, optimizing processes, and leading a team to meet production targets. Key Responsibilities : Assembly Operations Management : Lead and manage the entire assembly process for heavy machinery and industrial equipment. Ensure smooth operations and the timely completion of assembly processes while adhering to quality and safety standards. Optimize assembly processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety. Implement strategies to improve product assembly time and reduce downtime. Team Leadership & Development : Supervise, guide, and mentor assembly teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills and tools for success. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and skill development within the assembly department. Collaborate with other departments (Engineering, Quality Control, Procurement) to ensure alignment in goals and objectives. Procurement & Fabrication : Oversee procurement of raw materials, components, and machinery required for assembly, ensuring the availability of quality materials within budget and time constraints. Collaborate with the procurement and supply chain teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials for production. Supervise fabrication processes and ensure quality and standards compliance. Process Improvement & Cost Optimization : Analyze assembly line performance and identify areas for improvement. Introduce lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Control costs while maintaining product quality and safety standards. Quality Assurance & Compliance : Ensure that all assembly work complies with internal and external quality standards. Oversee product testing and ensure that finished products meet design specifications and client requirements. Enforce adherence to safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting : Provide regular updates to senior management regarding assembly performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), challenges, and opportunities. Work closely with other departments to address cross-functional needs and resolve issues effectively. Key Skills & Qualifications : Technical Expertise : Extensive experience in assembly processes, fabrication, and machinery/equipment procurement. Leadership : Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a high-pressure environment. Procurement & Supply Chain Management : Strong background in procurement processes, vendor management, and cost optimization in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Problem-Solving & Decision-Making : Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Process Optimization : Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and a track record of implementing continuous improvement practices. Quality Management : Understanding of quality control processes and regulatory compliance in heavy machinery and industrial manufacturing. Additional Requirements : Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using ERP systems and other relevant software for production management. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
