Purpose of the Job/Job Mission The GM Corporate Affairs serves as the bridge between the company and its external environment, ensuring that the business operates smoothly within regulatory frameworks, enjoys a strong reputation, and maintains constructive relationships with key stakeholders. Responsibilities and Accountabilities :- Government & Regulatory Relations • Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, regulators, and industry associations.• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.• Represent the company in policy discussions, forums, and consultations. Corporate Governance & Compliance • Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards, statutory regulations, and internal policies.• Liaise with legal and compliance teams to manage licenses, approvals, and clearances.• Oversee company secretarial activities (if part of scope). Corporate Communications & Reputation Management • Develop and implement communication strategies to protect and enhance the organization’s reputation.• Manage media relations, press releases, crisis communication, and stakeholder messaging.• Oversee internal communication to ensure transparency and alignment. Stakeholder Engagement • Act as the primary interface with key external stakeholders (government, regulators, investors, communities).• Support leadership in representing the company to external bodies.• Engage with NGOs, chambers of commerce, and other strategic partners. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability • Design and implement CSR and sustainability initiatives aligned with company values and legal requirements.• Monitor impact of CSR projects and ensure statutory reporting compliance. Strategy & Advisory •Advise the CEO/Board on emerging regulatory risks, political climate, and public affairs trends.Contribute to business strategy by aligning corporate affairs initiatives with organizational goals.
