Job Title: AS400 Developer Location: On-site, India Role Responsibilities Develop and maintain AS400 applications using RPG, COBOL, and other relevant languages. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design software solutions. Write and optimize SQL queries for database interaction. Perform system analysis to identify the requirements and gaps in existing systems. Debug and troubleshoot application issues, providing effective solutions. Conduct regular maintenance and performance tuning of AS400 systems. Prepare and maintain documentation for applications and systems. Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning as part of the Agile team. Provide support for production issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Implement new features and enhancements as required by business needs. Ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices. Review and enhance existing applications for efficiency and effectiveness. Work closely with users to understand their needs and gather feedback. Assist in the training of junior developers and other staff. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AS400 technologies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Proven experience as an AS400 Developer with a strong portfolio of relevant projects. In-depth understanding of RPG and COBOL programming languages. Experience in database management, particularly DB2. Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL. Familiarity with system administration on AS400 systems. Excellent analytical and debugging skills. Experience working in Agile development environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Willingness to take on new challenges and learn new technologies. Professional certifications related to AS400 development (preferred). Experience with other programming languages (preferred). Knowledge of industry best practices and trends.
