Role & responsibilities To ensure implementation and monitoring of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) activities across the manufacturing units of Arvind Advance Material Division Limited (technical textiles), ensuring statutory compliance, risk mitigation, safe work practices, and fostering a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities A. Safety Management & Compliance Implement and monitor SHE systems in line with statutory norms and organizational policies. Ensure compliance with Factory Act, OSH codes, environmental norms, and PDIS standards. Conduct regular plant inspections, safety walks, and audits. Maintain and update mandatory registers, documentation, and compliance reports. B. Hazard Identification & Risk Mitigation Carry out HIRA, JSA, and risk assessments for all composite manufacturing processesresin handling, moulding, curing, grinding, painting, finishing, etc. Recommend and implement preventive and corrective actions. Monitor high-risk activities such as confined space, hot work, working at height, and material handling. C. Training & Awareness Conduct safety induction for new employees and contractors. Deliver periodic safety training sessions (PPE usage, chemical safety, fire safety, emergency preparedness). Develop SOPs, work instructions, safety posters, and awareness material. D. Incident & Emergency Management Lead incident/near-miss investigations using RCA tools. Drive CAPA implementation and continuous improvement. Coordinate emergency response drills (fire, chemical spill, evacuation). E. Chemical & Composite-Specific Safety Monitor MSDS compliance for resins, hardeners, catalysts, adhesives, solvents, and paint chemicals. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of hazardous chemicals. Monitor fume extraction, ventilation, and occupational exposure levels. Oversee waste disposal as per environmental guidelines. F. Contractor & Vendor Safety Ensure contractor workforce follows SHE norms and safe work practices. Conduct toolbox meetings and ensure adherence to work permit systems. Review contractor documentation, training records, and compliance status. G. Reporting & Coordination Coordinate with production, maintenance, QA, and project teams for safety integration. Prepare MIS reports: accidents, near misses, audit findings, safety KPIs. Support customer audits and external inspections.
