Job Description

1.1 Job/ Role Title: Area Sales Manager 1.2 Function Department: Sales 1.3 Location: Nagpur, Goa, Raipur 1.4 Functional Reporting: Zonal Sales Manager 1.5 Administrative Reporting: Zonal Sales Manager 2 Job Purpose: 2.1 To oversee and manage the Sales Operations in the assigned Zone. The ASM is responsible for achieving sales targets, increasing market share and ensuring customer satisfaction within his area. 3 Principal Accountabilities (Role & responsibilities): 3.1 1.Setting sales targets and objectives: One of the primary roles of the Area Sales Manager is to set sales targets and objectives for the company. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities and challenges, and developing strategies to meet or exceed sales targets. 2.Sales planning and forecasting: The Area Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sales plans that support the overall business strategy. This includes forecasting sales volumes, analyzing sales trends and data, and identifying areas for improvement. 3.Team management: The Area Sales Manager is responsible for managing a team of Area Sales Managers & Sales Officers. He must motivate and inspire his team to achieve their goals and deliver results. 4.Territory management: The Area Sales Manager is responsible for managing sales territories and ensuring that they are efficiently and effectively covered. He must ensure that his team is focusing on high-potential areas and that sales activities are aligned with the company's overall objectives. 5.Budget management: The Area Sales Manager is responsible for managing the sales budget, Schemes etc. and ensuring that it is used effectively. This involves monitoring expenses, analyzing financial data, and making recommendations to senior management on how to optimize the use of resources. 6.Customer relationship management: The Area Sales Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers. They must ensure that customer needs are met and that the company delivers high-quality products and services. 7.Market intelligence: The Area Sales Manager must have a deep understanding of the market and competition and be able to identify emerging trends and opportunities. This involves conducting market research, analyzing data, and staying up-to-date on industry developments. 4 Qualification/Competencies: 4.1 Educational qualifications •Qualification Graduate (Min Required) 4.2 Competencies/skills •Strong leadership skills: ASM is responsible for leading and motivating a sales team, so strong leadership skills are essential. •Sales and marketing expertise: ASM should have a deep understanding of sales and marketing strategies and should be able to analyze sales data and market trends to identify new business opportunities. •Strategic thinking: ASM must be able to think strategically and develop effective sales plans and strategies to achieve set targets. •Communication and negotiation skills: ASM must have excellent communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain relationships with key customers and distributors. •Problem-solving: ASM will often encounter challenges and problems that need to be resolved quickly and effectively. •Time management skills: ASM will be required to manage a large amount of work and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines. •Networking and relationship building: ASM should have a wide network of contacts in the industry and should be able to build and maintain relationships with key customers and distributors. •Analytical and Data-driven: ASM should be able to analyze sales data and market trends to identify new business opportunities. •Adaptability and flexibility: FMCG is a dynamic industry and ASM should be able to adapt to changes and be flexible in their approach. •Strong computer skills: ASM should be proficient in using computer software, such as Microsoft Office and CRM systems, to manage and analyze sales data. 5 Specific Requirements: 5.1 Industry experience •8 to 20 Years of experience in relevant roles. 5.2 Target Companies •FMCG Companies
