About the Team and our Scope

At L&H Solutions, we build and commercialize cloud-native (Azure-based) SaaS/PaaS solutions for Swiss Re Life & Health insurance clients. We offer a portfolio of over six products, including established offerings like Magnum with over 60 active clients worldwide, and innovative products such as UW Ease. We are a SW house within Swiss Re.

Our team consists of more than 150 technical professionals with multidisciplinary skills, located in multiple countries, working on these multi-regional, highly available solutions.

About the Role

As the Software Engineer - Tech Lead, your responsibilities will include designing and developing software solutions while assisting fellow software engineers through peer coding, peer review, and discussions on software development, best practices and solution design. You will collaborate with product owners, architecture teams, and engineering teams to translate business needs into robust and integrated technological solutions that align with the product vision and roadmap.

Your responsibilities will be:

. Design and develop back-end software solutions deployed on-premises or in cloud environments at scale

. Contribute to front-end development and maintenance with opportunities to expand your skills in this area

. Maintain the performance, scalability, and security of our applications to ensure maximum reliability

. Participate in design workshops with architects and review sessions with software engineers

. Prototype new technologies with a fail-fast approach to innovation

. Collaborate with peers to implement and enforce software engineering best practices

. Support engineering managers in estimating, planning, and grooming the product backlog

. Lead, coach, and mentor fellow software engineers in their daily work

About You

If you possess traits and experience that fits into the below, we'd love to hear from you:

. Overall 10+ years experience in back-end software design and development.

. 8+ years experience with Java and Spring Boot frameworks.

. 2+ years of experience with Angular and JavaScript.

Must have excellent technical proficiency in

o Demonstrated experience in technical leadership

o Ability to partner closely with enterprise and solution architects on high-level/low-level design

o Strong technical proficiency in designing and implementing secure, clean code in Java while upholding engineering best practices and code quality

o Strong technical proficiency in designing and implementing secure, clean code in Java

o Experience designing and implementing optimized RESTful APIs

o Proven ability in software testing methodologies to ensure reliability and performance

o Experience with containerization using Docker and/or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

o Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using Azure DevOps

o Advanced knowledge of agile software engineering practices

o Front-end development expertise beyond the basics

o Experience leading code reviews and mentoring team members
