Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Engineer in Develop & Test with expertise in mainframe technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and performing testing solutions for mainframe applications. This role requires a strong background in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and test automation tools relevant to mainframe environments. Responsibilities: Engage in Coding (Enhancements & Development) activities, Develop & execute automated and manual test scripts for mainframe applications. Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and define test strategies. Design and Develop application on batch and online mainframe applications. Design and implement test automation frameworks for batch and online mainframe applications. Create and maintain test data for various test scenarios, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing on mainframe-based applications. Identify, document, and track bugs and defects, collaborating with development teams for resolution. Work in Agile / Scrum environments, actively participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Continuously improve test coverage and automation strategies to enhance software quality and delivery speed. Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and best practices in testing. Qualifications Required Skills: 5+ years of experience in software testing and test automation for mainframe applications. Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS. Hands-on experience with test management tools (JIRA, ALM, TestRail, etc.). Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.). Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug mainframe applications. Experience working in an Agile development environment with shift-left testing practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams. Required Experience & Education: 5+ years of experience Proven experience with COBOL / CICS / DB2/ VSAM / JCL, test automation College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience. Desired Experience: Experience with mainframe modernization or migration projects. Knowledge of Cloud-based testing solutions for mainframe applications. Understanding of performance and load testing for mainframe systems. Exposure to API testing (REST / SOAP) and message queues (MQ Series, Kafka) in mainframe integration. Location & Hours of Work: Full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Expected overlap with US hours as appropriate Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India in a hybrid working model (3 days WFO and 2 days WAH)
