Job Description We are seeking an experienced Air Compressor Service Engineer to support our customers across Southern Railway(SR) and South Western Railway(SWR) zones ( area like Chennai, Bangalore, Hubli, Trichy). The role involves the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of ELGI compressors for railway applications and industrial locations. Key Responsibilities Perform breakdown service, preventive maintenance (PM), and troubleshooting of air compressors Service compressors and air dryers installed at Railway Sheds: Chennai, Avadi, Tambaram, Perambur, Erode, Trichy and Bangalore/KJM Handle installation, commissioning, testing, replacements and routine diagnostics Prepare detailed service reports , parts requirements, and customer updates Ensure uptime and reliability of compressors used for railway operations Follow safety protocols during on-site work inside railway premises Coordinate with internal team for spare parts planning Technical & Customer Support Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of railway and industrial equipment. Troubleshoot technical issues at client sites and ensure timely resolution. Provide technical support and guidance to customers on equipment operation. Coordinate with service managers and technical teams for smooth project execution. Prepare detailed service reports , job summaries, and parts requirement lists. Maintain documentation, service records, and compliance with quality standards. Coordinate with internal teams for spare parts planning and replacement . Willingness to travel frequently for field service assignments. Requirements Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Electrical / Automobile Engineering or related field. 3 to 8 years of experience in servicing industrial equipment, preferably air compressors or railway systems. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good communication and customer-handling skills. Knowledge of compressors, dryers, wipers or related machinery (preferred). Proficiency in MS Office and service reporting tools.
