Android/Cross-Platform App Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a talented and passionate Android/Cross-Platform App Developer with 4-5 years of experience to help design, develop, and maintain mobile applications that integrate with our Computer Vision-powered retail checkout solution. You will be a key player in crafting high-performance, user-friendly, and scalable mobile/Web applications that align with our vision of transforming the retail industry. Key Responsibilities : Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android and cross-platform mobile applications using technologies like Kotlin Multiplatform, Java, or React Native. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Backend) to define and implement innovative solutions for the mobile platform. Ensure the mobile app is optimised for performance, scalability, and security. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices. Troubleshoot and debug issues to improve app performance and user experience. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and mobile development best practices. Skills and Qualifications : 4-5 years of hands-on experience in Android app development and/or cross-platform development (React Native, Jetpack Compose UI). Strong proficiency in Kotlin Multiplatform and/or Java for Android development. Experience with integrating third-party libraries and APIs into mobile applications. Familiarity with mobile application lifecycle, from development to deployment. Experience working with cloud services and backend APIs (RESTful services, Firebase, etc.). Knowledge of integrating AI or Computer Vision APIs is a plus (TensorFlow, OpenCV, etc.). Experience with version control tools like Git. Strong understanding of mobile app performance optimisation and debugging techniques. Ability to work collaboratively in an agile, fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. A passion for delivering great user experiences. Nice to Have : Familiarity with retail technologies and trends. Experience in UX/UI design and mobile app usability. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. Understanding of mobile security best practices.
