Objective of the Role: This role entails primary involvement in the software development of video streaming applications for Android platforms, encompassing Android mobile, Android TV, and other Android or AOSP devices or applications of diverse natures. Responsibilities range from building prototypes to active participation in documentation, dev testing support, and other development and collaborative tasks. An ideal candidate: Aspires to learn building performant Android applications and work collaboratively with talented colleagues and mentors in a friendly work environment. Keeps abreast of the latest developments in Google and Android, demonstrating enthusiasm for reading blogs and articles related to Android development. Responsibilities: Participate in learning development and maintenance of Android applications in accordance with feature requirements. Learn coding best practices and ensure comprehensive code comments during development of assigned tasks. Learn to write unit tests to ensure code robustness, covering edge cases, usability, and overall reliability. Participate in learning to resolve performance bottlenecks, and enhance application performance. Work under direction of assigned mentor/ coach. Document their learning. Conduct development testing as assigned. Stay abreast of the latest UX, Software Design, and Architectural patterns, applying them judiciously. Professional Requirements: Holds a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related discipline. Holds at least 1 year of professional experience or interning experience or proven hands-on experience in the development of native Android applications. Demonstrates beginner level of hands-on development skills using Kotlin. Demonstrates knowledge of debugging and optimization practices of Android applications. Demonstrates competence with Android SDK, Android Studio, and contemporary Developer Tools. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling technical challenges.
