As an Android Developer at WinZO, you will be responsible for owning the core video playback experience. Your primary goals will be to optimize playback performance, implement advanced preloading and caching strategies, and master Adaptive Bitrate streaming for the best quality under varying network conditions. You will also work on customizing UI components, ensuring robust error handling, integrating playback analytics, managing player lifecycle, and collaborating with other teams for video encoding and CDN strategies. Key Responsibilities: - Design, build, and maintain the core video playback experience using Jetpack Media3. - Minimize startup latency and eliminate buffering to optimize playback speed. - Implement advanced preloading, pre-fetching, and caching strategies for instant video playback. - Master Adaptive Bitrate streaming (HLS/DASH) to provide optimal quality based on network conditions. - Build and customize reusable PlayerView components for seamless integration into the UI. - Implement comprehensive error handling and retry logic for graceful recovery. - Integrate and manage playback analytics to track key metrics. - Ensure flawless player lifecycle management to prevent memory leaks and manage resources efficiently. - Collaborate with backend and media-pipeline teams to define video encoding profiles and CDN strategies. Qualifications Required: - 4+ years of professional Android development experience with proficiency in Kotlin. - Deep, hands-on experience with Media3 / ExoPlayer. - Proven experience in building or optimizing video streaming applications. - Strong understanding of video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH) and media caching strategies. - Familiarity with Android's component lifecycle, concurrency, and performance profiling tools. - Experience in building complex feed-based UIs.
