Analyst - Banking

Description of Position and Responsibilities

The Analyst will be a member of the clients investment team, contributing to the successful execution of the Investment Strategy. The Analyst will be responsible for analyzing prospective investments. In this role the Associate will perform the data entry and modeling of specific investment opportunities under the guidance of team leaders. The data we receive comes in many forms and the Analyst needs to extract and conform the data to fit the standardized format of financial models. The Analyst will be expected to work on multiple projects at the same time and manage multiple deadlines.

Required Experience & Qualifications

The Analyst needs to be intellectually curious and self-directed. The Analyst should be confident, assertive, and possess a drive for quality and attention to detail . The Analyst needs to possess relevant academic qualifications. The Analyst will have the following qualifications:

• An MBA degree in Finance or Accounting
• A strong understanding of accounting concepts, particularly as they apply to investment funds
• Outstanding financial modeling skills (including the full P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement). Interest in, and general understanding of, both the private and public equity markets
• Excellent quantitative skills and financial acumen
• Strong communications skills, written and verbal
• Attention to detail, including accuracy of financial model inputs and formulas
• Ability to multi-task, working on a number of different projects at any given time, and meet specified deadlines with a high degree of output
• Intellectual curiosity; willingness to challenge assumptions and ask “why”
• Ability to work well as part of a team in a small firm with little infrastructure or administrative support
• Desire and willingness to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
