Beverage Trade Network is a global platform for beverage, wine, spirits, and beer importers, distributors, producers, and related companies. Our extensive database allows for the seamless sourcing and innovation of portfolios by connecting importers and distributors with leading producers of beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks. We help producers expand their distribution networks and provide buyers with tools to easily locate and contact producers and distributors, thereby maintaining a competitive and innovative edge.


About the Role

AI/ML Engineer

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building practical AI features, moving quickly from prototype to production, and continuously improving systems with user feedback.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy

    machine learning models

    for ranking, scoring, and recommendations.
  • Design and implement

    NLP/LLM-powered features

    such as text generation, summarization, and contextual insights.
  • Integrate

    third-party AI APIs

    (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere) into product workflows and optimize for cost/performance.
  • Build pipelines for

    data collection, cleaning, and enrichment

    to ensure high-quality training and inference.
  • Implement

    semantic search and vector-based matching systems

    using embeddings and vector databases.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and retrain models to improve accuracy and adapt to new data.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed AI functionality into user-facing applications.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong programming skills in

    Python

    and familiarity with API integrations.
  • Experience with ML frameworks such as

    PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn

    .
  • Hands-on experience with

    NLP/LLMs

    (Hugging Face, LangChain, RAG, fine-tuning).
  • Knowledge of

    vector search technologies

    (FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate, Elasticsearch).
  • Proficiency with

    SQL/NoSQL databases

    and ETL/data pipelines.
  • Experience deploying models in production (REST APIs, Docker, cloud services).
  • Strong understanding of applied ML: model evaluation, monitoring, and iteration.


Nice-to-Have

  • Experience building

    recommendation systems

    or semantic matching engines.
  • Familiarity with reinforcement learning or feedback-driven model improvement.
  • Cloud ML experience (AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, Azure ML).
  • Background in SaaS or B2B platforms with data-driven features.
