The Core Responsibilities For The Job Include The Following

Training and Workforce Enablement (Primary Focus):

• Curriculum Design: Develop and deliver tailored workshops and training sessions for different departments (Editorial, Design, Marketing) on how to utilize LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and Image Generators (Midjourney, DALL-E).
• Prompt Engineering Support: Create and maintain a shared Prompt Library specific to publishing workflows. Teach staff how to move beyond basic prompts to complex chain-of-thought prompting for higher quality outputs.
• One-on-One Coaching: Sit with individual editors and designers to troubleshoot specific friction points in their daily work and solve them using AI tools.
  

Content Development And Editorial Strategy

• Editorial Assistance: Train editors to use AI for structural critiques, brainstorming plot points, characterizing consistencies, and generating chapter summaries without losing the human voice.
• Style Sheet Development: Develop AI workflows that can analyse a manuscript to automatically generate preliminary Editorial Style Sheets (character names, location spellings, hyphenation rules) and check for adherence to house style guides.
  

Visual Arts And Cover Design Integration

• Ideation and Mock-ups: Guide the art department on using AI image generators to rapidly prototype cover concepts, mood boards, and interior illustrations to speed up the approval process.
• Asset Management: Train designers on how to use AI for technical tasks such as image upscaling, extending backgrounds (out-painting), and vectorizing assets.
  

Product Marketing And Sales Material

• Copy Generation: Streamline the creation of back-cover blurbs, Amazon product descriptions, A+ content, and press releases using AI to match specific tonal requirements.
• Metadata Optimization: Implement AI workflows to generate SEO-friendly keywords and categories for book distribution platforms.
  

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years in the Publishing, Media, or Content Marketing industries.
• AI Proficiency: Expert-level understanding of current Generative AI tools.
• Technical Skill: Demonstrated ability in Prompt Engineering (few-shot prompting, persona adoption, iterative refinement).
• Teaching Ability: Proven experience in training, mentoring, or public speaking. You must be able to explain complex tech concepts to non-technical creative professionals.
• Editorial Eye: A strong grasp of grammar, narrative structure, and the nuances of the English language.
  

You should be a Power User of:

• Text: GPT-4 Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Gemini.
• Image: Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, or Adobe Firefly.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python or basic scripting (for API integrations) is a plus, but not required.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop).
• Knowledge of Copyright Law as it pertains to Generative AI.
