Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal guidance and support to internal stakeholders on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, leasing, development and dispositions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of real estate contracts, including purchase agreements, lease agreements, construction contracts, financial agreements and joint venture agreements.
• Conduct thorough due diligence on real estate properties, including title searches, zoning analysis, environmental assessments and regulatory compliance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and industry standards governing real estate transactions in India.
• Identify and assess legal risks associated with real estate transactions and develop strategies to mitigate such risks.
• Assist in resolving disputes related to real estate matters, including litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external counsel, government authorities and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution of real estate transactions.
• Stay updated on developments in real estate laws and regulations, precedents, and industry trends to provide proactive legal advice and support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; additional qualifications such as Master's degree or specialization in real estate law preferred.
• Admission to the Bar Council of India with active practicing license.
• 13-20 years of progressive experience in legal practice, with a focus on real estate law.
• Strong knowledge of Indian real estate laws, regulations and industry practices.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
• Proven track record of managing multiple real estate transactions simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, judgement & decision-making skills.
