Job Title : Finance Officer / Accounts Officer Location : Pune Akurdi Job Purpose To oversee and manage the financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting processes of the educational institution while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Management & Planning Prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in consultation with institutional leadership. Track income, expenditure, and cash flows to ensure efficient use of resources. Monitor fund allocations across departments and projects (e.g., NAAC/NBA activities, research grants, infrastructure, scholarships). 2. Accounting & Compliance Maintain accurate books of accounts as per applicable standards (e.g., GAAP). Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income & expenditure reports. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (TDS, GST, PF, Income Tax, etc.). Coordinate with auditors (internal/external) and respond to audit queries. 3. Payroll & Staff Payments Oversee monthly salary processing and reimbursements for teaching and non-teaching staff. Manage deductions (TDS, PF, PT), and maintain up-to-date employee records. Process increments, arrears, gratuity, and other benefit payouts in accordance with HR. 4. Liaison & Coordination Coordinate with banks, funding agencies, government departments, and auditors. Handle fee collections, scholarships, student refunds, and sponsor billing. 5. Reporting & MIS Generate periodic financial reports for management decision-making. Present reports during Board meetings, Governing Body meetings, or audits. 6. System & Controls Implement internal controls for accounting and asset management. Digitize and automate financial processes where feasible (e.g., ERP/Tally/QuickBooks). Qualifications & Skills Bachelors/Masters degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting (CA/ICWA/MBA Finance preferred). Minimum 5-8 years of experience in finance, preferably in the education or service sector. Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, payroll, and statutory compliance. Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally, or any accounting/ERP software. Analytical mindset, integrity, and ability to work independently under pressure.
