Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Day-to-Day Accounting (Tally)

Record all
purchase, sales, receipts, and payment
entries in Tally.
Maintain
ledgers, journals, and vouchers
(contra, payment, receipt, journal).
Ensure proper
narrations, cost centres, and tracking numbers
are used where applicable.
Maintain
vendor and customer accounts
and ensure balances are accurate.

2. Banking & Reconciliations

Prepare and post
bank entries
in Tally.
Perform
monthly bank reconciliations
and resolve any discrepancies.
Reconcile
debtors, creditors, and inter-company accounts
periodically.

3. GST & TDS Compliance

Ensure all purchase and sales entries are correctly booked with
GST details (HSN/SAC, tax rates, place of supply)
.
Prepare
GST workings
(GSTR-1, GSTR-3B data) from Tally for filing by CA/consultant.
Compute and record
TDS on applicable payments (e.g. contractor, professional fees, rent)
.
Assist in preparation of
TDS returns
and maintain TDS records and challans.

4. Closing & Reporting

Assist in
month-end and year-end closing
:

Provisions, accruals, prepaid expenses, and adjustments.
Depreciation entries (in coordination with CA, if needed).

Prepare periodic
MIS reports
from Tally (P&L, Balance Sheet, trial balance, ageing reports).
Provide data and schedules to auditors and support
statutory/tax audits
.

5. Documentation & Process Control

Maintain
proper filing and digital records
of invoices, vouchers, and supporting documents.
Ensure adherence to
company accounting policies and internal controls
.
Coordinate with internal teams (sales, purchase, HR, operations) for information and clarifications.
