Academic Head - Chandigarh

Position Overview

The Academic Head of the school will provide visionary leadership for curriculum, pedagogy, assessments, and overall learning transformation within the school. The role requires strong expertise in experiential learning, competency-based education, holistic development, and modern pedagogies.

Core Responsibilities

1. Strategic Academic Leadership

·       Lead the school’s academic vision grounded in experiential learning and holistic development.

·       Build long-term academic strategy aligned with NEP 2020 and NCF 2023.

2. Curriculum Design & Pedagogical Innovation

·       Oversee experiential, project-based, and inquiry-led curriculum design.

·       Ensure interdisciplinary and competency-based academic planning.

·       Introduce global best practices and innovative classroom methodologies.

·       Lead the development of lesson plans, teacher guides, learning resources, and experiential activities.

3. Teacher Development & Classroom Quality

·       Conduct and plan continuous professional development, mentoring, and coaching for teachers.

·       Lead classroom observations and reflective feedback cycles.

·       Build facilitation standards for experiential learning.

4. Holistic Development & Wellbeing of Learners

·       Integrate SEL, arts, sports, nature-based learning, values education, and life skills.

·       Oversee personalised learning pathways for diverse learners.

·       Strengthen wellbeing systems and holistic growth programs.

5. Assessments, Data & Academic Governance

·       Implement competency-based assessments and portfolio-based evaluation.

·       Develop rubrics, performance tasks, and exhibitions of learning.

·       Use data-driven decision-making for academic planning.

6. Parent Engagement & Community Collaboration

·       Lead academic orientations, PTMs, workshops, and learning showcases.

·       Build community partnerships for experiential learning extensions.

·       Strengthen parent-school communication systems.

Qualifications & Experience

·       Postgraduate degree in Education/Child Development/Psychology/Any related field.

·       10–15 years of experience in academic leadership.

·       Deep knowledge of experiential learning, Competency-based education, and holistic development.

·       Strong communication, facilitation, and analytical abilities.
