Job Title: HVAC Technician (Chiller Maintenance & Operation) Location: Mumbai Job Type: Full Time Reports to: Facility Manager / HVAC Supervisor Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician specializing in chiller operation and maintenance to ensure efficient and reliable performance of cooling systems. This role involves monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing chiller plants, including associated HVAC equipment such as AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, pumps, and control systems. Key Responsibilities:Operate, monitor, and adjust chiller systems (air-cooled and/or water-cooled) to maintain desired temperatures and performance. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of chillers, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, AHUs, FCUs, and related components. Monitor system parameters such as temperature, pressure, refrigerant levels, and flow rates through BAS (Building Automation Systems) or manual readings. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues related to HVAC and chiller systems. Perform regular inspections and ensure proper functioning of chillers and related HVAC equipment. Log operational data and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, operating hours, and performance metrics. Perform water treatment checks and chemical dosing for condenser and chilled water circuits (if applicable). Follow safety procedures and ensure equipment complies with environmental and safety regulations. Respond to HVAC-related alarms, emergencies, or breakdowns in a timely manner. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams during system upgrades or overhauls. Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC or refrigeration preferred. Minimum [X] years of experience in HVAC maintenance with a strong focus on chiller systems. Experience with centrifugal, screw, or scroll-type chillers (e.g., Carrier, Trane, York, Daikin). Knowledge of HVAC system components, BAS systems, and chilled water distribution. EPA or equivalent refrigerant handling certification (as required by local laws). Familiarity with HVAC codes, safety standards, and energy efficiency practices. Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals. Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces, at heights, or in varying weather conditions. Good communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications:Vocational training or diploma in mechanical or HVAC engineering. Hands-on experience with Building Management Systems (BMS). Basic knowledge of water treatment and chemical handling. Working Conditions:Work involves rotating shifts or on-call duties (including weekends and holidays). Exposure to noise, heat, and mechanical hazards in plant or mechanical room environments. Must wear appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols at all times.
